What Sets ValleyView Energy Apart in U.S. Land Management

In U.S. oil and gas, the land position is the asset. Every well, every acquisition, and every divestiture rests on who owns what, under which lease, with which obligations. When land work is slow, fragmented, or careless, value leaks out quietly: a lease lapses, a defect surfaces after closing, a rig waits on title.

Most land service providers cover one piece of that work. ValleyView Energy was built to cover all of it, with a team that has done the job inside operators. Here is what that means for our clients.

1. A team built inside operators

Our people come from the land departments of operators including XTO Energy, Apache, Parsley Energy, BPX Energy, Luxe Energy, Three Rivers, Ovintiv, EOG, and Concho. They have run rig lines, cleared title against drilling deadlines, and sat on the buyer’s and seller’s side of the table.

That background changes how we work. We understand what an operator’s engineering, finance, and legal teams need from land, and we deliver it in the form they can use, without translation.

2. One team from acquisition to exit

Many companies hire one firm for A&D diligence, another for field leasing, and a third for title curative and division orders. Every handoff between them is a chance for information to be lost.

ValleyView covers the full lifecycle: A&D support, land operations, asset administration, deal sourcing, and financial due diligence. The team that reviews title before you bid is the same team that clears it for your first well and prepares the data room when you sell. Knowledge stays with the asset instead of starting over at each stage.

3. Diligence focused on liability, not just ownership

Confirming who owns an interest is only half of title work. The other half is finding what could cost the buyer money later: expiring leases, unrecorded assignments, pooling problems, or obligations buried in old agreements.

We run smoking-gun reviews before a bid, so serious issues surface before capital is committed. Through closing, we manage title and PSA advisory, defect notices, and cure coordination, so problems are resolved, priced, or excluded while there is still leverage to negotiate.

4. Land operations that keep pace with the drill schedule

A rig waiting on title is one of the most expensive delays in development. Our land operations team manages rig lines, title clearance, lease and JOA negotiation, pooling, and unitization with the drilling schedule in mind.

We work regularly with the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas General Land Office, the Bureau of Land Management, and the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division. Knowing how each regulator works, and what each needs to see, helps permits and pooling move on time.

5. Relationships that open off-market opportunities

Many of the best mineral, leasehold, and surface opportunities never reach a marketed sale. They move between people who already know each other.

Our team has sourced more than 150 deals through direct relationships with operators, mineral owners, and investors across major U.S. basins. On the sell side, we run curated buyer marketing that puts assets in front of the right buyers, not just the most buyers.

6. Lower overhead, flexible engagement

Building an in-house land department means salaries, benefits, software, and records systems, whether or not the work is steady. Outsourcing land to ValleyView turns much of that into a project cost, and outsourced land costs can often be capitalized with the asset rather than carried as G&A.

Clients choose how they work with us: support on a single acquisition, a defined project such as a curative program, or a fully outsourced land department for a non-operated fund. The engagement scales with the work.

By the numbers

$10B+A&D transactions supported
150+Deals sourced through direct relationships
500+Transactions evaluated to close

Recent engagements include:

  • $1.5B mineral drop-down diligence
  • 25+ high-value horizontal units
  • 7,500 net royalty acres sourced
  • 10,000 net acres / 10,500 BOEPD Delaware Basin divestiture

The difference shows up in the asset

Strong land work rarely makes headlines. It shows up as wells that spud on schedule, acquisitions without surprises after closing, and divestitures that move quickly because the records are clean.
